Space.hs is a simulation-heavy multiplayer survival game, themed around a European space programme in the (very near) future.
What this game is
This game's not faithful to Space Station 13 in any capacity, and there are several architectural changes to support that, one of those being persistence. Which enables systems to have real consequences, and therefore fixes one of it's largest design flaws.
On that topic, these are some of the ways it diverges:
- This game is a lot more simulation-heavy, more akin to CataclysmDDA.
- Moderation is reduced tenfold, because there's largely not a need for it. The game defines the boundaries, so there's no need for an admin stepping in to enforce them.
- The timeframe era of this game is the near future (2030-2060), not 3000 years out, so it's largely grounded by pre-existing technologies.
- Every mechanic is derived from real life physics and is constrained by it.
- Systems interlock rather than sit side by side. A gunshot is a wound, a bleed, a surgery, and a burden for the janitor. No mechanic exists on its own.
- This game is absolutely not designed around roleplay in any way, shape or form. There's no need to act out consequences, because they already exist.
